Hikerdelic Quotidian Jacket

As ever, here at Hikerdelic we love a good overhead jacket. There are many names you could apply to this timeless type of jacket. Cagoule? Maybe. Windbreaker? If you like. We'll stick with smock though. And through this we'll continue to amuse ourselves by calling ourselves Smockbrokers. 

Onto the important stuff though. The actual jacket. Taking furtive glances back at the 1970s and 1980s for inspiration, our new Quotidian jacket is the ideal everyday garment, whether you're in need of something light and comfy for when the sun is still in the sky, or you want something more as an appropriate outer layer, the Quotidian is your everyday solution. That's why we called it the Quotidian. 

It's not a word most people use but when we started thumbing through the thesaurus we found it ideal. Taking lineage from the latin quotidianus, Quotidian basically means daily. In some quarters it's used in a mundane sense, and in that respect we're not afraid to lean into that narrative. Most people do have a repetitive daily grind, and for that there's no need to dress too flashy or ambitiously. Branding on this jacket follows that, with no overt logos plastered anywhere, and instead you'll find our increasingly familiar green and yellow side tab to the left hip. 

Functionally, this is designed and priced to be a reliable first barrier to moisture, and has a water resistant coating applied accordingly. If you're trudging across Kinder Plateau, maybe reach for something infinitely more expensive and technical with taped seams and all that stuff. But this is an everyday jacket, remember. And unless you're planning on standing in the rain for prolonged periods, this is more than suitable for most everyday scenarios.

Constructed using a specific look and feel of 100% nylon, the dry, crispy feel is in keeping with other items in our range, such as the Coach Jacket, Camp Shirt and Beach Short. It's all the same fabric. 

Drawstrings, elastic, a front pouch pocket and adjustable hood are all considered and present, in this, our first release of a new style that will remain in our range via different colours and fabrics, much like the Conway Jacket before it. It will evolve but the timeless silhouette and the concept of an everyday jacket will remain key. 

Limited to 50 pieces per colour, and this season they come in Burnt Orange, Cactus Green and Peacoat Navy.
